City Walk “Uzvaras Park: Contemporary Landscape Transformation”

Exploring one of Riga’s most significant contemporary landscape transformation projects. This afternoon walk introduces the redevelopment of Uzvaras Park, highlighting innovative design solutions, biodiversity-rich planting, recreational infrastructure, and the role of landscape architecture in creating resilient and inclusive public spaces.

“Riga Street Greening and Urban Canopy Strategy”

Discovering how Riga is bringing nature back into the city centre. Guided by municipal experts, participants will explore recently implemented street greening projects and learn about the Urban Canopy Strategy, innovative planting systems, and the city’s efforts to improve climate resilience, biodiversity, and urban liveability.

“Premium Plants: Growing the Future Landscape”

Exploring the production landscapes behind successful urban greening projects. Participants will visit one of Latvia’s leading tree nurseries and discover how trees and plants are cultivated for parks, streets, and public spaces. The excursion highlights quality standards, sustainable production methods, and the importance of nursery stock in shaping future landscapes.

“Jūrmala Coastal Landscapes and Resort Heritage”

Discovering the unique relationship between nature, recreation, and cultural heritage along Latvia’s Baltic Sea coast. This afternoon walk explores Jūrmala’s historic resort architecture, dune landscapes, public spaces, and coastal management approaches, showcasing how one of the Baltic region’s most distinctive seaside cities continues to evolve while preserving its identity.

“Babīte Arboricultural Hub: The Village of Good Trees”

A practical excursion focused on professional arboriculture and urban forestry. Hosted at the “Village of Good Trees” in Babīte, participants will gain insights into modern tree planting, maintenance, and management techniques while learning how healthy urban trees contribute to climate adaptation, biodiversity, and the quality of public spaces.

“Riga landscape architecture objects”

Discover a selection of award-winning landscape architecture projects in Riga, showcasing innovative approaches to public space design, climate adaptation, and healing environments. The route offers insights into how landscape architects shape resilient, people-oriented urban spaces—from revitalised cultural landmarks and sustainable residential quarters to therapeutic healthcare landscapes and meaningful memorial gardens.
